Nobody buys a finca in the Tramuntana for the square metres. They buy the mornings, the stone, the particular quality of the quiet. We design the room where that purchase is honoured — by commission, one project at a time.
There is a question every owner of a house in Mallorca eventually faces: does the island change how you live, or merely where you spend August? A restored finca near Deià or an estate in Son Vida already has the pool, the olive trees, the kitchen worth photographing. What it rarely has is the room that separates owning a beautiful house from living differently inside it.
For many of our clients, wellness is the reason the second home exists at all. The mainland year drains: sleep shortens, stress compounds, and the body keeps its own honest ledger of both. A private spa — heat, cold, steam, silence — turns the house into the instrument of recovery it was always meant to be, rather than a stage set visited twice a year.
Other owners arrive with a sharper brief: performance and longevity as a discipline. A sauna with a precise heat curve after a morning in the Tramuntana; water at 4 °C before breakfast on the terrace; light protocols that support recovery rather than decorate it. The same room, designed for a different intent.
"Nordic Stillness: silence is not absence. It is presence that restores."
Mallorca’s architecture asks for restraint. In a finca of local stone, a sauna cannot arrive as an imported object; it must be composed for the building — thermo-treated woods set against marés and mountain walls, proportions that respect the original volumes, engineering that leaves no trace on the façade. We design with the grain of the island, working with private clients and with the architecture studios that restore and build here.
For Mallorca’s premium rural hotels — the agroturismos and boutique properties that have redefined the island — a considered spa is no longer an amenity but an argument: the reason a stay is booked, the detail a guest describes afterwards. We design wellness spaces that belong to the hotel’s architecture and hold their own in its photography.
VALKEA coordinates from Madrid and builds across Spain, the Balearics included. For Mallorca — Son Vida, Port d’Andratx, Santa Ponsa, Pollença, Deià and the villages of the Tramuntana — logistics, shipping and installation are planned as part of the project, not discovered during it. We accept a limited number of projects per year; an island commission receives the same undivided attention as one an hour from our studio.
In restored fincas and protected settings, the spa is composed for the building: proportions, materials and openings that defer to the original architecture rather than compete with it.
Engineering and manufacture on the mainland; shipping, installation and commissioning in Mallorca planned as one calendar. No improvisation at the port, no surprises on site.
Private houses in Son Vida or the Tramuntana, and boutique rural hotels: two briefs, one standard of engineering, discretion and after-sales care.
Composed for finca and villa alike — thermo-treated wood against local stone, a heat curve set to its owner, a view of the Tramuntana where the site allows.
Water at 4 °C beside the pool or in the courtyard shade. The counterpoint to the island summer, engineered quietly and used year-round.
Steam and stone belong on this island. A private hammam extends Mallorca’s Moorish inheritance with contemporary engineering and absolute discretion.
Photobiomodulation for recovery, skin and sleep, integrated into the architecture of the spa — for private houses and boutique hotel suites alike.
