Steam as tradition

The hammam is one of the oldest rooms dedicated to the body. VALKEA conceives it in its contemporary reading: artisan mosaic, selected natural stone, calculated thermal bench and professional steam generator. A room that belongs to the house, not a technical caprice.

The hammam is not a cold room with steam. It is a continuous atmosphere: steam at a constant 45 °C, humidity near saturation, controlled aromatherapy and a thermal bench that keeps the body in its ideal immersion temperature. Every parameter is designed; nothing improvised.

Each VALKEA hammam is projected as a small architectural work. The mosaic — selected, cut and laid by craftsmen — defines the room's character. The natural stone bench, calculated in thickness and conductivity, lets the body reach temperature without aggression. Lighting is resolved with stage criterion, not functional.

"Steam shapes an invisible volume. Designing it is the discipline."

Artisan mosaic

We work with mosaic workshops of Mediterranean tradition. Each hammam is designed with its own palette: tonality, texture, grout. Installation is executed on site, piece by piece, with respect for the gesture of the craft.

Calculated thermal bench

The bench — central piece of the hammam — is executed in natural stone over a heated structure. Bench temperature is calculated to keep the body in its comfort zone throughout the session: neither cold on first contact, nor overheated in prolonged immersion.

Conception

Three non-negotiable principles

01

Authorial mosaic

Bespoke chromatic and grout design. Mediterranean craft workshops. On-site installation, piece by piece. No catalogue patterns.

02

Thermal bench

Selected natural stone (marble, travertine, basalt) over heated structure. Constant temperature calculated for immersion comfort.

03

Continuous atmosphere

Professional steam generator dimensioned to volume. Integrated aromatherapy. Stage lighting, not functional.

Frequently asked questions

What is worth knowing

What is the minimum space needed for a hammam?
From 4 m² of usable space a well-dimensioned hammam for 2–3 people is viable. More generous projects (6–12 m²) allow continuous bench seating and integrated impact shower. The project is calibrated to the available cavity.
How much does a luxury bespoke hammam cost?
Each project is priced after a technical visit. The budget reflects the cost of artisan mosaic, selected natural stone, professional generator and integration works.
What maintenance does it need?
Periodic cleaning with neutral product, annual descaling of the generator and aromatherapy review. Mosaic and stone, well executed, require nothing beyond habitual cleaning.
Do you work with interior designers?
Yes, especially. The hammam is a project where interior design carries fundamental weight. We collaborate closely with the studio.
Execution time?
12–16 weeks from signature, depending on mosaic complexity and works coordination. Mosaic workshops require their own lead time for design and production.
In which countries do you install?
Spain, Portugal and Andorra. Coordinated from Madrid. South of France on demand.
Commission

Let us project your hammam as a work

Each VALKEA hammam starts with a technical visit and a dialogue with the studio that signs the work. Request the dossier to begin the commission.
